The GOM Designs Fully Enclosed Tourniquet Pouch is designed around the basic principle of keeping your tourniquet fully enclosed and protected from environmental exposure.

  • The GOM Designs Fully Enclosed Tourniquet Pouch is made in the USA with 100% berry compliant materials.

  • Fully enclosed design offers complete coverage of your tourniquet, ensuring that it stays protected.

  • Tested and confirmed to work with CAT and SOFTT-W tourniquets.

  • Takes up a single column and 3 rows of standard or laser-cut PALS webbing.

  • Designed for quick and efficient tourniquet deployment.

  • Built in pocket and retention strap to retain your trauma shears.

  • Integrated loops designed for lanyard attachment to maintain your trauma shears when in use. Loops can also be used to stow a Sharpie or NCD.

  • Two sewn-in pieces of One-Wrap enable the tourniquet pouch to be mounted horizontally, giving the end user more versatility and mounting options.

A study done by Military Medicine in 2011 shows that CAT tourniquets exposed to harsh environments—particularly when worn externally on kit—experience significantly higher breakage rates (8–12%) within six months, largely due to UV exposure and environmental degradation.

In contrast, CAT tourniquets stored inside pouches or IFAKs, even without the factory plastic wrap, had zero failures and very little to no demonstrable loss of effectiveness of reducing the distal pulse to 0% when compared to a brand new tourniquet. Exposed tourniquets were also reported to have 63% efficiency vs 91% efficiency of unexposed tourniquets .

This research emphasizes the importance of properly storing your tourniquets, validating the need for a fully enclosed pouch design to ensure integrity in combat conditions.
